Senator Snow, too much intergrity to stay

Filed under: General — admin @ 8:09 AM

Senator Olympia Snow (R)  announced this week that she will not seek re-election–which she would surely have won– due to U.S. Senate members’ partisanism and unwillingness to use personal judgement.  Her intergrity is impeachable and although unfortunate for Mainers, I salute her decision.

Personally I would like to replace all congressional Republicans and Democrats with Independents so congress could get something accompolished in the next four years.

Avid Reader, Afghanistan, etc

Filed under: General — admin @ 6:16 PM

I’m not only an author, I’m an avid reader also. Just finished Ken Follett’s book copyrighted in 1986, “Lie Down with Lions” based in  Afghanistan 1981-82 during the Russian invasion. Great story line, scenic and character descriptions are superb.

The book provokes many thoughts, amoung them: “Why are WE still fighting there?”

Horse Tails by Famous Fred

Fred was not famous for what he did; Fred was famous for who he was—a horse with a kind and gentle spirit who was loved by entire neighborhoods and towns in northeast Massachusetts and who showed his appreciation everyday for being rescued and given a second chance at life.

This is based on a true story and is sure to warm the hearts of horse lovers young and old.
